How long do the olives last?

Canned and pasteurized olives can last up to 3 years.

Non-pasteurized olives can last up to 9 months.

It is preferable to consume bulk olives within a month.

Do your products have any quality or technical inspection seal?

At Aceitunas el Cortijo, we want to guarantee and prioritize our customers’ safety above all. Therefore, our products are analyzed by a laboratory, and we have a technical data sheet about the allergen content of each product related to the application of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the provision of food information to consumers.

Are the olives salty?

All our products are cured in water and salt, except for the olives cured in caustic soda. However, the taste of olives is mild, so they should not be too salty.

Are the olives homemade?

All our gourmet products, as well as the olives in the “Aceitunas Partidas” category, are seasoned by the company itself and done in a handmade way.

Do you have olives cured in caustic soda?

Indeed, the Mountain Olive, the Chupadedos (Yeyé) Olive, and the Black Pearl Olive are cured in caustic soda. Due to their curing in caustic soda, these three olive varieties have the least amount of salt, making them a good option for hypertensive people who still want to enjoy the consumption of olives.

How to preserve the olives and prevent them from getting soft?

Olives should be stored in a cool and dry place, and the container should be tightly closed. Also, it is worth mentioning that old olives should not be mixed with new ones because old olives could oxidize new ones. Finally, olives that are stored in jars should be covered by the preserving liquid in the container. If this is not the case, you can add water and salt until you can completely cover them.

How much do olives make you gain weight?

The fact that olives make you gain weight is a myth because usually, olives provide about 150 calories per 100g, of which 82% of those fats help us increase our levels of good cholesterol in the blood.

What are the benefits of regular consumption of olives and pickles?

Olives and pickles have many benefits for our body. Among all possible benefits that consuming olives and pickles may have, we highlight the following:

  • Great source of iron and sodium, being an ally for people suffering from anemia.
  • They reduce bad cholesterol and strengthen the immune system. Monounsaturated fatty acids reduce levels of bad cholesterol (LDL), increasing the “good” cholesterol and lowering the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipments will be free throughout the Spanish peninsula if the order exceeds 50€. On the contrary, if the order placed does not exceed said amount, the shipping price may vary, taking into account multiple factors such as the weight of the merchandise or the area of ​​Spain where you want to receive the order. You will be able to know the amount of shipping once you have filled in your data and delivery address and in the check-out section, before proceeding to the payment of the product.

How long does the order take?

Do you ship to all of Spain?

Aceitunas el Cortijo is committed to sending its products to anywhere on the peninsula (however remote), including Mallorca, Menorca, and Ibiza. In addition, the lot of products that you acquire will be sent in temperature-controlled refrigerated trucks to ensure that the product arrives in its optimal condition.
